Booth season calculators

Two working calculators for the arithmetic every cookie manager does on the back of an envelope in January.

Both of these run on your own council terms, not on national averages. Proceeds per package, package price, case size and the traffic at your particular sites differ enough that a borrowed benchmark will steer you wrong. Put your own numbers in, and you get a figure you can defend to parents at the season kickoff meeting.

Use the earnings calculator when you are deciding whether a site is worth booking again, and the coverage planner when you are deciding how many booths your volunteer bench can actually staff. Between them they answer the two questions that drive a season plan: is this shift worth the two hours, and do we have the adults to run all of them.

Why these booth season calculators need no sign up

There is no form in front of them and no email to hand over. Every cookie manager already does this arithmetic by hand in January, multiplying a case goal by packages per case, dividing by the packages per hour she half remembers from last February, then guessing how many screened adults that many booth shifts will take. The paper version is not the problem. Redoing it a third time because your council posted different proceeds per package after the initial order is the problem, and a calculator you can reopen on your phone at the kitchen table fixes that much on its own.

Both are worth keeping even if you never book a demo. Take the proceeds per shift figure to your service unit when you are asking for a better booth site than the one nobody wants, and take the shifts per family figure to the kickoff meeting so parents can see the arithmetic behind the number you are asking them to cover. Print the results, paste them into the parent email, run them again when next season's terms are published. Nothing about a cookie season is held back behind a login here.

From January arithmetic to a booth calendar that holds

A calculator gives you a season plan on a January afternoon, and week three is where the plan and the record part company. TroopBooth keeps the two together: shifts claimed by family, cases signed out and carried on a line until they are sold or returned, cash and card counted booth by booth. Ask for a demo and we will set it up on the proceeds per package you just entered.
