The agreement

Terms of service

The rules that apply when your troop, service unit or council uses TroopBooth. Plain language, monthly billing, cancel whenever you like. Last updated September 4, 2026.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms of service govern your use of TroopBooth, the booth scheduling and fundraising accounting service published by MLJ, SASU. By creating a TroopBooth account, by signing in to one that a service unit manager opened for you, or by using any part of the service, you agree to everything written on this page. If you are agreeing on behalf of a troop, a service unit or a council, you confirm that you are authorized to bind that group. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the service. The version in force is always the one published here, dated September 4, 2026.

2. What the service does

TroopBooth is a web application for volunteers who run youth troop and club fundraising seasons. It lets you publish booth shifts and let parents claim them, assign case inventory to individual members, record what each booth sold and what was returned, reconcile cash and card takings against the cases signed out, and publish a parent facing balance sheet for every family. It also produces the transfer and settlement summaries a treasurer needs at the end of a season. TroopBooth is software: it does not sell product, hold your funds, act as a payment processor, or take any position in your council's own rules about pricing, prize tiers or reward levels.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least eighteen years old and an adult volunteer, staff member or parent of a participating member to hold a TroopBooth login. Accounts are personal. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential, for every action taken under your login, and for telling us promptly at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com if you believe someone else has reached your account. Troop leaders who invite co leaders, treasurers or parents are responsible for removing access when a volunteer leaves the role. Members under eighteen never receive their own login; their case counts and booth results are entered by the adults who supervise them.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use TroopBooth to store data unrelated to your fundraising program, to upload anything unlawful or harmful, to attempt to reach another troop's records, to probe or stress the service, to scrape it, to resell access to it, or to reverse engineer it. Do not record a young member's last name, home address, date of birth, photograph or medical information in a free text field: the product does not ask for any of it and does not need it. We may suspend an account that puts the service or other troops at risk, and where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

5. Subscriptions and billing

TroopBooth is sold on three monthly plans, priced in United States dollars: One Troop at $15 per month, Service Unit at $39 per month, and Council Support at $89 per month. Every plan is billed monthly in advance from the day the subscription starts, and it renews automatically on the same day each month until you cancel. Prices exclude any sales tax that may apply where your group is based. If we change a price, we will give you at least thirty days notice by email before the new price appears on an invoice, and you are free to cancel before it takes effect rather than accept it.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the account settings page or by emailing us, with no cancellation fee and no notice period. Cancellation stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the end of the month you have already paid for. Because seasons end mid month for many troops, we refund the unused part of the current month on request if you cancel within the first fourteen days after a renewal charge. Downgrading between plans takes effect on the next renewal date and is credited pro rata. After cancellation, you keep the ability to export your season records for sixty days.

7. Your data belongs to your troop

Shift rosters, member case counts, sales records, settlement sheets and every other record your volunteers enter remain the property of your troop, service unit or council. We process that data only to run the service for you, to keep it secure, and to give you support when you ask for it. You can export it as CSV or PDF at any time while the subscription is live and for sixty days after it ends, after which it is deleted from live systems and from routine backups within thirty days. We do not sell your data, we do not use it to train models, and we do not share it with your council unless you deliberately grant that access from inside the product.

8. Service availability and support

We target 99.9 percent monthly availability outside planned maintenance, and we schedule maintenance for weekday overnight windows in United States time zones, away from booth weekends. Support is answered by email on business days, and during the peak selling weeks we staff a longer window because a broken shift roster on a Saturday morning is not a Monday problem. We may change, add or retire product features; if a change removes something your workflow depends on, we will give notice and, where practical, a migration path.

9. Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MLJ, SASU disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error free, or that it will meet every requirement your council imposes. TroopBooth helps you keep an accurate account of cases and money, but the figures you file with your council remain your responsibility, and you should review a settlement before you submit it.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MLJ, SASU is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost fundraising revenue, for lost prize eligibility, or for the cost of substitute services. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold MLJ, SASU harmless against claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms, from data you upload that you had no right to upload, or from a dispute between your group and a parent, a council or a third party about money or product. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and let you take part in its defense.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect a new feature, a legal requirement or a change in how the service works. The updated version is published on this page with a new date, and material changes are announced by email to account owners at least thirty days before they apply. Continuing to use TroopBooth after that date means you accept the revised terms; if you do not, cancel before the change takes effect.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably will be brought before the competent courts of Paris, France. This does not deprive a consumer of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country where that consumer is resident.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms, about an invoice or about a cancellation go to MLJ, SASU, publication director Jimenez Julien, at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com. Company details, registration numbers and hosting information are on the legal notice, and data handling is described in the privacy policy.
